Pliability Review Mobility, Recovery and Flexibility Explained

Pliability Review Mobility, Recovery and Flexibility Explained

This Pliability review looks at the app formerly called ROMWOD. It uses dated App Store and Google Play listings, the company site, and published write-ups. This is a source-reviewed guide, not a hands-on lab test. Figures were captured on 13 September 2026.

Who this Pliability review is for

A Pliability review should stay on this product. Pliability suits people who want a teacher on the mat. The US App Store page describes 1,700-plus guided routines, breath cues, and session lengths you set as short, medium, or long. Daily blocks are listed at 12 to 20 minutes. You can stream on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, or AirPlay. Android adds Chromecast and Google TV in the Play copy.

It also suits HYROX and CrossFit users who want a named partner, not a DIY timer. The listing calls Pliability the official stretching partner of HYROX. That is a sponsorship line. It is not a clinical endorsement.

Skip it if you want a large free library first. Fitness Drum’s 2026 write-up said there is no permanent free plan, only a 7-day trial. Skip it if you dislike long holds with talk over music. Several user reviews describe the work as yin-yoga-like. If you prefer a self-scored sport test, read our GOWOD review.

Dated specs and store listings

This Pliability review dates the public specs. pliability, LLC publishes the iOS app. The US listing captured on 13 September 2026 showed version 3.41.1, noted as updated about three days earlier. Size was 277.5 MB. It required iOS 16.6 or later. Age rating was 13+, with a note on infrequent medical-treatment information and contests. Language was English only on that page.

Google Play, same day, showed an update on 11 September 2026 and 4.0 stars from 4.2K reviews in the header (3.98K in the reviews pane). Third-party Play mirrors listed a 100K+ install band. The company ROMWOD page still advertised “4M+ downloads” across stores. That is a marketing total. It is not the Play band.

Pliability price and a 12-month bill

A Pliability review has to keep US and UK cells apart. Apple US IAP on 13 September 2026 listed Athlete Monthly at $19.99 and Athlete Annual at $179.99. Twelve monthly renewals would be $239.88 before tax. The annual SKU is the cheaper 12-month path on that sheet. UK Apple used £19.99 and £179.99. Twelve UK monthly renewals would be £239.88.

The company’s ROMWOD history page, fetched the same day, listed $22.95 a month or $199.95 a year. Fitness Drum’s 2026 review quoted $19.95 a month or $14.99 a month on an annual plan. Feeling Better’s 14 March 2026 piece quoted a yearly path near $9.99 a month. Those three public prices do not match. Country, promo, and checkout (web versus Apple) all move the number. We do not invent a single “true” fee.

A 12-month web bill at $199.95 is still a different contract from Apple’s $179.99 year. Cancel on the same rail you used. Several App Store reviews complain about renewals and refunds. Read the trial end date before the seventh night.

How sessions are built

The iOS copy describes recommended sessions that refresh each week. You can ask for a length in plain words, such as a 15-minute hip opener. Browse buckets include Recovery, Restorative, Relief, and Warmup. Favorites and Recents split what you made from what the library made. No extra kit is required on the store page, though some user reviews mention props appearing mid-session. A Pliability review cannot confirm how often those props appear.

The mobility test is sold as a three-minute, on-device range check on iPhone and iPad. Feeling Better contrasted that camera test with GOWOD’s self-scored moves. We did not run either test. We also found no methods paper. Treat the report as a coaching extra.

Sync claims include WHOOP, Garmin, and Apple Health on iOS, and Garmin plus Google Fit on Android. Those links do not prove that stretching raised a recovery score. They only say data can move. For a quiet strength day without an app, use our no-equipment full-body home workout.

Pliability privacy in plain language

Pliability privacy is heavier on Apple’s tracking label than GOWOD’s. The website privacy page was dated 16 August 2026 in our fetch, but the policy body did not load as text. We therefore lean on the store labels. Apple said identifiers, usage, and diagnostics may be used to track you across other companies’ apps and sites. Health and fitness data, user ID, and device ID may be linked to you for third-party advertising. This Pliability review does not invent extra rows.

Play’s Data Safety form said the app may share location, personal info, and several other types with third parties. It may collect location, personal info, and more. Data is encrypted in transit. You can request deletion. That is a heavier sharing picture than GOWOD’s Apple label. It is still a form, not a live audit.

If ad tracking is a deal-breaker, read the live privacy policy on pliability.com before you start a trial. Store labels can lag a site rewrite.

What reviews said, and what we could not verify

Pliability ratings stay in separate store cells. Apple US sat at 4.8 from 10K ratings on 13 September 2026. UK sat at 4.7 from 2k. Play sat at 4.0 from about 4,000 reviews. Praise often cites calm coaching and a daily habit. Complaints cite cue errors (some from 2022, with a later developer reply), billing, and missing equipment lists. A Pliability review that blended Apple and Play would hide that drop.

Fitness Drum’s 2026 review liked guidance and scoring. Feeling Better preferred Pliability for voice coaching and GOWOD for sport count. Those are editor scores. They are not ours. The listing still claims help with back pain and range. NHS flexibility pages do not assign a weekly stretch quota. They also do not name this app. Pain that lasts or spreads needs a person, not a streak.

Who should skip Pliability

Skip it if you want a cheap timer and a few illustrations. See the Bend review. Skip it if you want a free guided catalogue with video and spoken cues. See the Flexor review. Flexor’s public ratings are still minimal, but they are growing fast. On 20 September 2026 the headline Premium price was $9.99 a month or $24.99 a year in the US, and the same numerals in pounds in the UK. Skip it if splits classes with a teacher matter more than recovery flows. See the STRETCHIT review. If you want tool-based mobilisations, see The Ready State review. For a two-app decision with GOWOD, use GOWOD vs Pliability. For the wider set, see best stretching apps. A Pliability review cannot rank those other jobs.

Frequently asked questions

Is Pliability the same as ROMWOD?
Yes in lineage. The company says ROMWOD became Pliability in 2022. The Android package still uses a romwodllc ID. Features have expanded since the rename.
How much is a year of Pliability?
Apple US showed $179.99 a year on 13 September 2026. Apple UK showed £179.99. The company site listed $199.95 a year. Older reviews quoted other sale rates. Check the live checkout.
Does Pliability have a free version?
The store listing and Fitness Drum describe a 7-day trial, not a lasting free library. Feeling Better mentioned a longer promo trial on an affiliate link. We did not verify that extra week on the public store page.
Is the camera mobility test accurate?
We found no independent study. The company describes an on-device, three-minute check. Treat it as a coaching extra. It is not a clinical range exam.
Can I use Pliability on a TV?
The iOS listing names Apple TV and AirPlay. Play names Chromecast and Google TV. Download for offline is listed on both.
Should I pick Pliability or Flexor?
Pick Pliability if you want a paid teacher-led library. On 13 September 2026 the US Athlete year was $179.99. Pick Flexor if you want a free routine shelf first. Flexor’s public ratings are still minimal, but they are growing fast. On 20 September 2026 the headline Premium price was $9.99 a month or $24.99 a year in the US, and the same numerals in pounds in the UK.
