This Pvolve review looks at the streaming membership, dated US prices and one published trial. It is for people who want low-impact strength at home and need a clear cost picture. This is a source-reviewed guide, not a hands-on lab test.
Who this Pvolve review is for

Download Pvolve Streaming on the App Store · Get Pvolve Streaming on Google Play
Choose Pvolve if you want standing strength work that is sold as joint-friendly. The US App Store listing described classes from about 10 to 70 minutes. Filters include class type, length, equipment, focus area and trainer.
Skip it if you want a classical Pilates teacher archive. That job belongs to Pilates Anytime. Skip it if you will not pay about $25 a month and do not want branded kit in the cupboard.
It is a poor fit if you want a free filmed yoga library. Alo Moves, now ALO Wellness Club, lists class access as free. Compare the cluster on best yoga and Pilates apps.
Features the stores actually describe
The US App Store listing captured on 13 September 2026 named Strength & Sculpt, Progressive Weight Training, Recover & Stretch, Women’s Health, Cardio Burn and Mat Definition. It mentioned pelvic-floor, cycle-tracking and menopause support as content themes. Those are catalogue labels. They are not diagnoses.
Version 5.5.2 appeared about five days before our capture. The app required iOS 15.1 or later. It listed iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. Age rating was 13+ with infrequent contests and health topics. Google Play listed Everyone and an update on 4 September 2026.
Manufacturer pages said you can also stream from a browser at app.pvolve.com. They listed more than 1,800 on-demand classes plus live virtual studio sessions. Those are company figures. We did not count the library.
Play reviews from 2021 and 2024 mentioned date bugs, missing equipment labels and casting problems. Support asked users to email [email protected]. Later replies said music and casting had been fixed. We did not re-test those bugs.

Pvolve price and 12-month cost
Twelve months at $24.99 a month is $299.88 before tax. The $224.91 annual plan is the lower cash total if you stay a year. The help article equated the year plan to about $19.74 a month. The marketing site also printed $18.75 a month for the same $224.91 charge. We report the billed year figure, not the two averages.
US equipment bundles on the streaming pages listed a Signature set at $174 with one month of streaming, an Essentials set at $412 with three months, and a Total Transformation set at $620 with three months. After those months, help pages said membership renews at $24.99 a month or $67.47 every three months, depending on the bundle.
We did not capture a reliable UK streaming price. Do not convert dollars in your head and call it a UK rate. Check the live basket.
Privacy and Data Safety
Apple’s label said data linked to you may include payment info, email, name and phone number. Uses included advertising or marketing, personalisation and app functionality. Crash data was listed as not linked to you.
Play said the app may share app activity and device IDs with third parties. It may collect personal info, calendar data and two other types. It also said encryption in transit and a deletion request.
Read the manufacturer privacy page before you sync a wearable or calendar. Labels are developer statements.
What the Exeter trial actually measured
Svensen, Koscień, Alamdari, Wall and Stephens published “A Novel Low-Impact Resistance Exercise Program Increases Strength and Balance in Females Irrespective of Menopause Status” in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise (2025; 57(3):501–513). PubMed record 39480197.
Seventy healthy, moderately active women who were not on HRT were randomised. Forty-five completed a supervised programme four days a week for 12 weeks. Twenty-five kept habitual activity. The paper reported rises in hip abduction and flexion peak torque, Y-balance reach, sit-and-reach flexibility, vastus intermedius thickness and lean mass in the exercise group, not the control. Responses did not differ by pre-, peri- or post-menopause status in that sample.
Nima Alamdari is listed as Pvolve’s chief clinical advisor on company pages. Healthline summarised the work in 2024 using manufacturer-facing percentages. Prefer the journal abstract for the study design. The trial was supervised. Home streaming is not the same setting.
Pvolve also markets a University of Minnesota lower-back series in 16 people. We did not independently verify that paper for this page. Treat the marketing percentages as unverified here.
What remains unverified
We did not test the live studio. We did not weigh the P.ball. We did not confirm UK prices. We did not measure calorie burn. Store copy about “big results” is marketing.
Play’s two review counts disagree (905 vs 762). We report both. Accessibility features were “not yet indicated” on the US App Store page.
If you want yoga without kit, try Down Dog, Glo or Daily Yoga. A no-equipment full-body home workout can sit on days you skip the stream.
Who should skip it
Skip Pvolve if you want classical mat language from a Pilates school. Skip it if you refuse any payment data in an app. Skip it if you expected a free yoga club.
NHS and CDC pages talk about weekly activity minutes, not a branded method. The trial is useful context. It is not a promise that your living room will match the lab.
Medical note. This article is general information, not personal medical advice. The Exeter trial does not replace care for menopause, pelvic-floor symptoms or back pain. Stop for sharp pain, fainting or chest pain. Seek urgent care for emergency symptoms. Ask a clinician before you start if you are pregnant, injured or living with a long-term condition.
