The best yoga and Pilates apps are training logs and class libraries, not clinics. This shortlist is for people who want a mat practice at home and need a clear view of class style, dated prices and privacy. This is a source-reviewed guide, not a hands-on lab test.
Who the best yoga and Pilates apps are for
This page is a selection tool. It is for beginners who want a quiet living-room class, and for regular students who travel.
Skip a paid membership if you already like a local teacher and only need a timer. Pair any app with a no-equipment full-body home workout on days you want strength, not flow. We do not crown a “best overall” trophy. The useful split is generated practice versus filmed teachers versus equipment-led work.

How this shortlist was chosen
The six names come from the Living Outlook yoga and Pilates cluster. We read manufacturer pages, App Store and Play listings, help centres and named reviews on 13 September 2026. Install counts the stores did not show are omitted. Store ratings stay in their own cells.

Down Dog: generated practice, one membership
Down Dog builds a new sequence when you pick time, level, style, voice and music. Yoga Buddhi Co. says one membership also unlocks Pilates, HIIT, barre, prenatal yoga and meditation. The US App Store listing for version 8.3.1 (13 August 2026 notes) matches that toolkit.
US in-app items captured on 13 September 2026 included All Access at $12.99 and $99.99. The UK listing showed £10.99 and £79.99. Twelve months at the US monthly SKU is $155.88 before tax. The annual SKU is $99.99 if you keep that plan. The website subscribe path asked for a login, so we could not verify a public web price.

Alo Moves, now ALO Wellness Club
Alo rebranded the app and removed the main paywall. Athletech News reported the old Alo Moves fee as $12 a month. A Good Housekeeping writer recalled a fee near $20 a month. Those are two recaps. We do not blend them.
The US listing on 13 September 2026 said “Always Free.” It still listed paid series from $19.99. The UK listing still showed a Monthly Membership SKU at £15. Confirm checkout. Good Housekeeping said the mobile app was iOS-only. We found no Wellness Club Play listing. Android users should plan on the website.
The store claimed more than 4,000 classes. An Alo Access page said 2,000. We leave both attributed. See the Alo Moves review for the privacy label.
Glo: named teachers, higher 12-month cost
Glo is a filmed library. The homepage captured on 13 September 2026 stated 12,000+ classes and 60+ teachers. Glo Support listed $30 a month or $245 a year. Apple’s US listing showed $29.99, $75 a quarter and $244.99 a year. The UK store showed £30 a month and annual SKUs at £224.99 and £249.99. Twelve months at $30 is $360.
US App Store sentiment was 4.9 from 32K ratings. Google Play was thinner: 3.8 stars beside 1.03K reviews in the header. The Glo review covers Data Safety and who should skip the fee.
Daily Yoga: freemium library with many SKUs
Daily Yoga still markets a free layer plus Silver and Gold tiers. Version 8.96.01 appeared on Apple about a day before this capture. US IAP included Silver Pro at $12.99 a month or $42.99 a year and Gold Pro at $19.99 or $52.99. UK IAP included Silver £10.99 a month and Gold £18.49 a month. Play reviewers still confuse which tier they bought.
US App Store rating was 4.7 from 4.5K. Google Play was 4.1 from a much larger review pile. Store copy promises fast fat loss. NHS and CDC pages do not back that timeline. Read the Daily Yoga review before you stack two subscriptions.

Pilates Anytime and Pvolve: narrower jobs
Pilates Anytime is a teacher archive. The help centre updated 11 June 2026 listed £19.99 a month or £209 a year in the UK and $24 or $264 in the US. App Store IAP sat a little higher. Choose this if you already speak Pilates.
Pvolve is a method with optional tools. Help pages listed $24.99 a month or $224.91 a year. We did not capture a reliable UK streaming price. See the Pilates Anytime review and Pvolve review.
What 12 months actually costs
If you pay the US monthly SKU for a year: Down Dog about $155.88; Glo $360; Daily Yoga Gold Pro $239.88; Pilates Anytime $288; Pvolve $299.88. Annual SKUs cut that if you keep the plan. Alo’s main library was listed as $0 if you are not on a legacy store subscription. UK cash differs: Down Dog £79.99 a year beats twelve times £10.99. Glo monthly £30 becomes £360. These sums ignore tax. Cancel in the store that billed you.
Privacy and data, in plain language
Down Dog’s Play box said no third-party sharing, encryption in transit and deletion on request. Apple still lists contact info as linked to you. Alo’s Apple label allows tracking with contact info and identifiers. Glo’s Play box said the app may share location and personal info. Daily Yoga’s Play box said device IDs may be shared. None of these labels were audited for this page.
What the evidence actually covers
NHS pages for adults 19 to 64 list yoga and Pilates among muscle-strengthening examples. Adults still need at least 150 moderate minutes a week, or 75 vigorous, plus strengthening on two days. CDC guidance uses the same minute floors.
Cochrane’s yoga review for chronic low back pain found small, often clinically unimportant, gains versus no exercise. That review did not test these apps. No manufacturer here published a trial we could cite for in-app calorie counts. Treat those lines as marketing.
Free, beginner and small-space options
If you want to try before you pay, Alo’s current listing is the simplest free door. Daily Yoga still advertises free classes. Down Dog’s school form is for accredited primary and secondary emails, not a general coupon. Beginners should pick apps that shorten the class and add more cues.
For a quiet flat, skip jumping HIIT. Use yin, chair yoga or mat Pilates. A quiet apartment workout or a fifteen-minute home workout can sit beside the app on short days.
Medical note. This article is general information, not personal medical advice. Yoga and Pilates can aggravate joints or backs. Stop if you feel sharp pain, dizziness or chest pain. Seek urgent care for emergency symptoms. Speak with a GP or qualified clinician before you start a new programme if you are pregnant, recovering from surgery or living with a long-term condition.
