This Alo Moves review covers the app after it became ALO Wellness Club. It is for people who still search the old name and need to know what is free, what still costs money and what the privacy label says. This is a source-reviewed guide, not a hands-on lab test.
Who this Alo Moves review is for
Stay if you have an iPhone, iPad or a browser and want filmed yoga, Pilates, barre and mindfulness without a new monthly fee. The listing also names Apple TV and Apple Watch.
Skip the mobile app if you only have Android. Good Housekeeping said the app was iOS-only. Our Play search on 13 September 2026 found Alo Studios by MINDBODY, not Wellness Club. Plan on the website instead.
Also skip it if you refuse an Alo Access account. The brand still wants an email. Compare paid libraries in our best yoga and Pilates apps guide if you want a teacher archive with a clear invoice, such as Glo.

What changed when Alo Moves became Wellness Club
App Store version 5.48.0, dated 29 August 2025, said Alo Moves is now ALO Wellness Club. Version 5.53.0 on 22 December 2025 mentioned membership updates. That lines up with late-2025 reports that the paywall dropped.
Athletech News said the old Alo Moves fee was $12 a month. A Good Housekeeping trainer recalled a fee near $20 a month. Smudge Report said full access had been $129 a year or $10.99 a month. Those are three historic figures from three outlets. We list them separately. We do not invent a single old price.
LegalClarity summarised Alo’s own note: website subscriptions ended when the platform went free in late December 2025. Apple and Google subscribers may still need to cancel in the store. If a charge continues, treat it as legacy billing, not as proof the library is paid again.
| Field | What the listing showed |
|---|---|
| Current version + last update | iOS 5.60.0, notes dated 25 August 2026. Seller Alo, LLC. Size 120.6 MB. |
| Platforms | iPhone, iPad (iOS 15+), Apple TV (tvOS 9+), Apple Watch (watchOS 9.1+), Mac on Apple silicon, web. No Wellness Club Play listing found. |
| UK / US price | US listing: free class access; series IAP from $19.99 to $49.99. UK listing: free download; Monthly Membership SKU £15 still listed plus series IAP. Confirm checkout. |
| Free / trial / subscription | Brand copy: no subscription, no credit card. Optional paid series remain. Legacy store subs may still renew until cancelled. |
| App Store rating + count | US 4.9 from 34K. UK 4.9 from 4.5K. |
| Google Play rating + installs | Not applicable to Wellness Club on the pages we opened. Alo Studios is a different app. |
| Age / content rating | Apple 9+ (health or wellness topics). |
| Privacy / Data Safety | Apple: data used to track you — contact info, identifiers. Data linked — health and fitness, contact, user content, identifiers, usage. Data not linked — location, diagnostics. Policy at aloyoga.com/pages/privacy-policy. |
| Sentiment source + n + date | App Store figures above, 13 September 2026. Many featured reviews are from 2020–2024, when the app was still paid. |
| Core features | On-demand yoga, Pilates, sculpt, HIIT, barre, dance, meditation; programs; offline download claimed; onboarding survey; SharePlay. |
| Validation | No app-specific trial cited here. Store copy that promises “actual results” is marketing. |
Alo Moves price after the free reset
If the live library matches the US listing, 12-month subscription cost is $0. That is the main commercial change. Optional series are one-off IAP, not a second membership, on the US list we captured.
The UK IAP list still included Monthly Membership at £15. We could not confirm whether that SKU still charges new users. Check Apple subscriptions after you sign in. If you subscribed through the website before December 2025, Alo said those bills stopped. Ask support if a card charge continues.
Do not budget from old $12 or $20 recaps. Those describe the former Alo Moves plan, not the current listing.
Features and where the copy disagrees
The US listing on 13 September 2026 promised more than 4,000 classes and 300 programs. Styles include vinyasa, ashtanga, hatha, yin, prenatal yoga, Pilates, strength, HIIT, barre and several meditation formats. You can sort by style, time and instructor.
An Alo Access benefit page said 2,000 classes, weekly new classes, and one programmed series a month. That is a different number. We leave both attributed. We did not count the catalogue.
Offline downloads are claimed. Cast-to-TV complaints appear in older App Store reviews, including an April 2024 review that said casting failed on several devices. The developer asked for device details. We did not retest casting.
Privacy, tracking and the clothing brand
Alo, LLC is an apparel company as well as a digital studio. The privacy policy we fetched covers aloyoga.com, apps and Wellness Club together. It describes cookies, analytics and sharing with service providers and affiliated brands.
Apple’s label is the sharper consumer summary: the app may track you across other companies’ apps and sites using contact info and identifiers. Health and fitness data can be linked to you and used for third-party advertising, per the structured label.
That is a heavier footprint than Down Dog’s Play box, which declared no third-party sharing. If you want yoga without a retail-brand data graph, read the label before you create Alo Access.
What independent reviews measured — and what we did not
Good Housekeeping’s 2026 piece is a trainer’s long-term use, not our test. The writer liked class quality and said the missing subscription made the app easier to try. She flagged Android absence and wondered whether free access would thin the library later. That last point is an opinion, not a finding.
We did not measure workout hardness, music mix or TV cast. We did not verify “VIP instructors” or doctor-led results. We did not audit whether every former paid class is still unlocked.
For a generated practice that still charges a clear year fee, see Down Dog. For a large paid teacher list, see Glo. For a cheap freemium pose library, see Daily Yoga. Strength days can sit in a no-equipment full-body home workout instead of another sculpt class.
Evidence and who should skip Alo
NHS and CDC pages still set weekly activity minutes. They do not endorse this app. Cochrane’s yoga review did not test Alo’s videos.
Skip Alo if you need Android software, if you will not create a brand account, or if the tracking label is a deal-breaker. Skip it if you need live reformer Pilates with apparatus — that is closer to Pilates Anytime.
Keep an eye on your store subscriptions for 90 days after you sign in. Free copy and leftover IAP can coexist.
Medical note. This article is general information, not personal medical advice. Filmed classes cannot assess your form. Stop for sharp pain, dizziness or chest pain. Seek urgent care for emergency symptoms. Talk with a clinician before you start if you are pregnant, injured or managing a long-term condition.
