This Wahoo SYSTM review treats SYSTM as a workout library inside Wahoo’s Pro plan, not as a separate universe. Video sessions, 4DP targets, and off-bike work sit behind one subscription. This is a source-reviewed guide, not a hands-on lab test.
SYSTM used to be easier to name. It absorbed The Sufferfest. It now lives beside the Wahoo App as the place you do the prescribed work. Wahoo’s own FAQ says the Wahoo App records and analyses. SYSTM is the library and the plans. One account. Pro unlocks the shelf.
That packaging matters at checkout. You can buy Core and never see the video sessions. You can buy Pro and still pair a non-Wahoo trainer, according to the same FAQ. Hardware is not required. Hardware is also not included.
Who Wahoo SYSTM suits
It suits riders who want a coach on video, not an avatar peloton. It suits people who will also open the yoga, strength, or mental-training blocks. It suits Wahoo device owners who already live in that app and want the next session handed to them.
Skip it if you want nightly mass-start racing. That is Zwift’s job. Skip it if you want a plan engine with no film. That is closer to TrainerRoad. Skip it if you only need to spin the trainer in ERG. Base can record that without Pro.
Apple rates the app 18+ with infrequent profanity or crude humour. Sufferfest-era language still leaks through user reviews. If that tone bothers you, watch a trial session before you pay.

What Pro buys that Core does not
Wahoo’s subscription page is unusually clear. Base pairs sensors and records. Core adds training intelligence and indoor route simulation. Pro adds SYSTM, recommended workouts, and training plans.
If you came for The Sufferfest videos, you need Pro. If you came for a Fitness Score chart, Core may be enough. If you came to update KICKR firmware, Base is enough. The FAQ says hardware works without a paid tier.
Annual Pro at £149.99 or $179.99 is the value story Wahoo wants you to see. The same page warns that yearly billing is not sold inside the app stores. In-app purchase is monthly, which costs more over a year. Apple’s IAP list showed “Wahoo $17.99” and “Wahoo Core $4.99” on the US fetch.
4DP is a vendor profile, not a clearance
4DP splits sprint, anaerobic, sustained, and threshold power. Wahoo says two riders with the same FTP can train differently. That is a coaching idea. It is not an FDA or MHRA approval. It is not a reason to ignore how your knees feel.
Full Frontal and Half Monty are the brand’s test names in older reviews. The App Store still talks about a Rider Profile. You can start from a questionnaire, the FAQ says, and refine later with a test. A test day is still a hard day. Treat it like one.
Off-bike sessions are the quiet differentiator versus ROUVY or MyWhoosh. Those platforms sell roads. SYSTM sells a week that can include a mat.
The Apple–Android split
Two point six thousand Apple ratings at 4.7 is a small, warm sample next to Zwift’s tens of thousands. Five hundred and fourteen Play reviews at 3.3 is a small, cool sample. A review dated 9 August 2026 on the Play fetch described a home page that loaded once, then stayed black.
Older Play comments praised content and complained about music apps and Garmin linking. Those notes are years old. They show a long Android life, not today’s build. Check the latest week of reviews for your phone before you pay Pro on Play billing.
Do not average 4.7 and 3.3 into a fake 4.0. They are different stores and different code paths.
Privacy, in plainer words than the label
Apple links a long list to your identity, including browsing history used for the developer’s marketing. Play’s SYSTM card said the opposite of comfort on encryption: “Data isn’t encrypted.” The same card said you can request deletion and that data is not shared with third parties.
Those sentences can both be true in Google’s form and still be a poor look. This desk cannot test the claim. We can only report the card as of 13 September 2026. If you sync power and heart rate, read Wahoo’s current policy and decide whether Pro is worth that line.
Do not confuse this listing with the separate “Wahoo: Ride, Run, Train” Play app, which showed 3.3 stars from 28.6K reviews on the same day. That is the hardware companion, not SYSTM.
Value, and what we could not check
Against the indoor shortlist, Pro annual is cheaper than Zwift or TrainerRoad annual on the US and UK list prices we captured. Cheaper is not better if you wanted racing. It is better if you wanted video and a lower yearly number.
Unverified: whether 4DP changes real-world results versus FTP-only plans. Whether the 2026 home page rewrite fixed Android. Whether a KICKR bundle still includes extra Pro months. Play install counts. Any medical claim. See our progressive overload guide if you need the training idea without the brand.
