MyWhoosh Review Is the Free Indoor Cycling Platform Good Enough?

MyWhoosh sells a virtual pack ride. The real road is still a different sport.

This MyWhoosh review asks whether a free virtual world can replace a paid indoor app. This is a source-reviewed guide, not a hands-on lab test. Riding is free on the publisher’s own help page. Optional extras exist. Ratings and privacy labels below are dated 13 September 2026 unless noted.

Who this MyWhoosh review is for

Use MyWhoosh if you want group rides and races without a monthly gate. Škoda We Love Cycling (7 January 2026) framed it that way: free riding, optional cosmetics. 220 Triathlon (18 January 2026) put it next to Zwift for racing, with a smaller crowd.

Skip it if you need filmed real-road video. That is ROUVY or FulGaz. Skip it if you want a coach-style adaptive calendar with no game layer. That is closer to TrainerRoad. Skip it if you refuse any account that stores health data, even when riding is free.

A smart trainer still helps. The homepage says you can ride with speed sensors and a traditional trainer using a speed-to-power estimate. That estimate is not a lab watt. Treat it as a game input.

What you get without paying

MY WHOOSH TECHNOLOGY SERVICES L.L.C. in Abu Dhabi publishes the app. Help text calls it a free-to-play platform for training, events, and virtual worlds. Play’s US listing, updated 17 August 2026 and captured 13 September 2026, named worlds based on real places: Hudayriyat, California, Belgium, Colombia, Australia, AlUla, and Arabia. It claimed 730+ workouts and coach-built plans. You can build your own session.

Esports is the loud extra. The same listing calls MyWhoosh official partner for the UCI Cycling Esports World Championships 2024–2026 and advertises cash prizes. Help text from 26 October 2023 already mentioned free-to-enter races with prizes. We did not verify prize pots or field sizes.

Downloads exist for iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Apple TV, and a higher-spec “MyWhoosh HD” PC build, per the getting-started page. Terms still mention Bluetooth or ANT+ and a smart trainer or smart bike for the full service.

Dated price, platforms, and store scores

Riding is free. Money appears in two other places. Apple’s US product page listed gem packs from $0.99 to $79.99 (captured via store listing in September 2026 research). Terms list monthly plans in AED: Basic 2.99, Basic Plus 10.99, Coach 29.99. The terms say those prices convert by local currency, tax, and store rules. We are not inventing a GBP or USD sticker from that table.

Help pages updated 28 January 2026 explain “slot credits”. A subscription raises how many custom workouts and plans you can store. Credits do not stack month to month. If a paid plan ends, extra items may lock until you cut usage or pay again. Library workouts stay free to use, per the same help set. That is the real MyWhoosh price question: cosmetics and extra custom slots, not a ride wall.

MyWhoosh subscription extras, if you pay

Most riders will never need Coach-tier slots. The free library is the product. Pay only if you write many custom workouts or sell plans as a coach. Help says unused credits do not roll. Deleting a custom item may return a slot. We are repeating publisher help, not a test log.

If you already pay Zwift or Wahoo SYSTM, MyWhoosh is a second world you can try at zero ride fee. That is the fair trial. It is not a reason to keep two paid apps “just in case”. See the best cycling apps page for the wider shortlist.

Privacy in plain language

Google Play’s Data safety label, captured 13 September 2026, said no data is shared with third parties. It said the app may collect personal info and health and fitness data. Transit is encrypted. You can request deletion. Those are developer ticks, not a third-party audit.

Apple’s privacy nutrition label also points to a developer policy. We did not reprint every bullet. Racing and club features are public by design. Use a rider name you are willing to show on a world feed.

Free apps still fund themselves. Cosmetics, esports sponsorship, and optional slots are the visible routes. That does not make the ride “costless” in data terms.

What independent coverage actually said

Cyclingnews (28 October 2025) grouped MyWhoosh with Zwift as a game-world option and with ROUVY as the film option. It did not crown a winner. 220 Triathlon (18 January 2026) said races are getting more serious and that some events expect a power meter and heart-rate strap. That raises the kit bar even when the app is free.

Play reviews in our capture liked the price and maps. They disliked missing next-interval watt targets and patchy ERG. That is useful consumer signal. It is not a controlled ERG test. A free app can still waste a Tuesday if pairing fails.

What remains unverified

We did not race on MyWhoosh. We did not count concurrent riders. World and workout totals are manufacturer copy. Cash-prize claims stay unsized here. AED plan prices may not match what your store shows today. If the help page and the checkout disagree, believe the checkout.

No blended Living Outlook score. Fitness still follows how you raise load. Our progressive overload guide applies whether the scenery is free or not.

Frequently asked questions

Is MyWhoosh really free to ride?
Publisher help dated 31 October 2023 says yes: no membership fee. You can still spend money on gems or optional slot plans. Stores can change IAP later. Recheck the listing before you assume the model is frozen.
Can I race without paying?
Help and Play copy describe free-to-enter events. Some prize races may set hardware rules. Read the event brief. We did not audit every race’s entry fee.
How does MyWhoosh compare with Zwift on price?
Zwift’s own 15 December 2025 article listed $19.99 / £17.99 a month. MyWhoosh riding has no required fee on the help page we cited. Graphics and crowd size are different products. Price alone does not settle the choice.
Do I need the paid slot subscription?
Only if you outgrow free custom-workout slots. Library sessions do not consume those credits, per January 2026 help. Most riders can ignore Coach pricing.
Why is the Play score lower than Apple’s?
Different stores, different samples, different clients. On 13 September 2026 Apple US was 3.7 from 378 ratings. Play US was 3.1 from 4.55K reviews. Android pairing threads were common in the Play sample we read. That is not a verdict on iOS.
Is a free indoor app safe for health training?
It is a consumer game and workout player. It does not diagnose illness. Stop for chest pain, fainting, or sudden breathlessness and seek care. Free does not mean medically supervised.
