Best Noom Alternatives for Digital Weight Management

Updated

A home scale reports mass, including water and glycogen, not a moral score.

These Noom alternatives are for people who already looked at Noom and want a different digital weight-management style. This is a source-reviewed guide, not a hands-on lab test.

Who these Noom alternatives are for

Use this page if Noom’s daily lessons, colour system or prepaid year do not fit. You still want an app. You do not want a fake 1–10 score.

Stay if you will log food or a fasting window for more than a week. Leave if you want a clinician in the room. An app is not a clinic.

Read our Noom review first if you have not seen the product you are leaving. For a generic shortlist that is not “instead of Noom”, use best weight loss apps.

Noom alternatives comparison

The shortlist is WeightWatchers, Slimming World, Zero and Fastic. Each row is a different job. That is why there is no gold medal.

Leaving Noom does not require a new identity. It requires a method you will actually log.

WeightWatchers: the closest programme swap

Choose WeightWatchers when you liked Noom’s structure but not the colour-and-lesson tone. Points collapse nutrition into one budget. ZeroPoint foods cut some logging. Workshops exist if you want a human room. That is the opposite of Noom’s phone-first Circles.

Dated US website Core at $12 a month for 12 months is $144. Noom’s listed Weight year is $209. That gap is real only if you stay on those paths. App Store months can close it. UK Core from £5 a month is a 12-month headline on the UK plans page we opened. Offers change.

Evidence is the reason some people switch. Lighten Up (BMJ 2011) and later NICE statements give Weight Watchers a clearer commercial-programme trail than Noom’s 2020 prediabetes DPP trial. That is not a promise you will lose 12 lb. It is a reason WW belongs on a Noom alternatives list.

Limitation: 2026 Play reviews said the app felt messy and too focused on GLP-1 extras. Med+ is a different product. Drug cost is extra on the US plans page. Full write-up: WeightWatchers review.

Slimming World: the UK food-plan swap

Choose Slimming World when you want Food Optimising, not calories or Points. Speed foods and Swips are a different language. A weekly group is the accountability Noom tries to replace with a coach chat. Online membership keeps the app if you cannot reach a hall.

Why it is an alternative: both products sell behaviour change plus a food system. Slimming World is cheaper than a $70 Noom month if you take the £20 post-pack UK rate, and more expensive if you stay on the £25.99 App Store month for a year (£311.88).

Limitation: it is a UK programme. The US App Store had 315 ratings on 13 September 2026. Lighten Up did not show a clear one-year edge over a leisure-centre comparator. NICE called that Slimming World trial evidence insufficient. Full write-up: Slimming World app review.

Zero: the fasting-timer swap

Choose Zero when you rejected Noom’s food log and want a clock. The free tier is the only true “Noom alternatives free” item on this page that still does a job: start a fast, keep a streak, read an article. Plus is $69.99 a year on Zero’s US help page, or $9.99 a month.

Why it is an alternative: some people leave Noom because calorie colours feel like a second job. A 16:8 window is a simpler rule. It is not a better rule. The 2025 BMJ review found fasting similar to ordinary calorie cuts. NICE made no fasting recommendation.

Limitation: Play sat at 3.8 stars on our capture date, with 2026 notes on slow start/stop. Photo meals and the Protein Score sit behind Plus. Zero is not a coach. Full write-up: Zero review.

A timer or a Points budget still leaves the walk to you.

Fastic: the fasting-plus-scanner swap

Choose Fastic when you want a fasting clock and a photo food log in one place, without Noom’s lesson stack. The free tier, per store copy, includes the timer, scanners and Fasty chat. Plus adds recipes and buddies. US labelled SKUs on 13 September 2026 included $14.99 for one month and $27.99 for three months.

Why it is an alternative: it replaces Noom’s AI meal log with a different scanner brand and drops the CBT-style curriculum. That can feel lighter. It can also feel noisier. Play reviews describe upgrade prompts.

Limitation: “Body Status” is not a ketone lab. The study Fastic cites (PMC10107279) is a 41-person diet trial, not an app trial. Full write-up: Fastic review.

How to choose without a trophy

If you want another full programme, start with WeightWatchers in the US or Slimming World in the UK. If you want less logging, try Zero’s free timer for two weeks. If you want photos without Noom’s lessons, try Fastic’s free tier and leave before Plus if the prompts grate.

There is no durable “Noom alternatives no subscription” product in this set except Zero’s free clock and Fastic’s limited free layer. A notebook plus weekly weighing is still a valid exit. Waist context sits in BMI and waist circumference.

Privacy notes across the shortlist

Noom’s own Apple label says purchases, financial info and location may be used to track you. If that was your reason to leave, do not assume the next app is quieter. WeightWatchers’ Play label declared no third-party sharing on our capture date. Slimming World, Zero and Fastic all said they may share device IDs or personal info. Read the live Data Safety block. Labels change.

Frequently asked questions

Is this Noom alternatives page a ranking?
No. It is a dated shortlist for replacement intent. There is no Vitality Ledger score.
What is the cheapest Noom alternative?
Zero’s free timer costs nothing if you never open Plus. WeightWatchers Core at the dated $12 or £5 12-month website rates can undercut Noom’s $209 year. Check the live till.
Is there a free Noom alternative that still coaches you?
Not on this shortlist. Noom’s lesson-and-coach model is the paid product. Free options here are timers and thin logs, not a curriculum.
Should I switch to fasting if I leave Noom?
Only if a clinician is happy with meal skipping for you. NICE did not recommend intermittent fasting in 2025.
Do these apps work without a GLP-1 drug?
Yes. Core Noom Weight, WW Core, Slimming World and the fasting timers are behaviour tools. Med add-ons are optional and clinical.
