This Sweat app review is for people who want trainer-led programmes and a community, not a blank gym log. This is a source-reviewed guide, not a hands-on lab test. Store pages, Sweat’s privacy notice and adult activity guidelines were captured on 13 September 2026.

Who this Sweat app review is for

Download Sweat: Fitness App For Women on the App Store · Get Sweat: Fitness App For Women on Google Play

Pick Sweat if you want a named trainer and a week that is already written. The US listing names Kayla Itsines, Kelsey Wells, Britany Williams and Cass Olholm. Styles include HIIT, circuits, bodyweight, powerbuilding, strength, yoga, barre, pilates, recovery, cardio and pregnancy or postnatal work.

Skip it if you want a $0 filmed shelf. Nike Training Club still does that job. Skip Sweat if you want an adaptive engine that rebuilds every session. That is the Freeletics pitch, not this one.

Also skip it if you are not the audience the listing names. The store title is still “Fitness App For Women.” Men can download it. The community and programmes are built around that brief.

A no-equipment full-body home workout is the no-fee alternative on days you only need a circuit.

What the public listing actually includes

The US App Store listing (id 1049234587) is a free download with in-app purchases. The seller is The Bikini Body Training Company Pty Ltd. It requires iOS 18 or later and lists iPad, Apple TV on tvOS 13+ and Apple Watch on watchOS 9+. Size was 169.8 MB. Age rating is 16+ for messaging, user-generated content and health topics.

Version 8.0.1 was dated about two days before our 13 September 2026 capture. Google Play (com.kaylaitsines.sweatwithkayla) showed a 7 September 2026 update and an Everyone rating. Play’s “what’s new” note introduced guided runs that keep audio going with the screen locked.

Store copy lists exercise videos, substitutions, trainer audio cues, a weight log for gym programmes, a planner, community posts, 200-plus meals, step and hydration trackers, and education articles. Apple Health can sync Watch activity. Play copy matches the same feature list.

Sweat’s support page said the app holds more than 60 programmes and 13,000-plus workouts. That is manufacturer counting. We did not audit the catalogue. A 14 April 2026 Play review asked for sample weeks before you lock a programme. That is a product-risk flag if you hate surprises.

Sweat also lists yoga and recovery. Those days are still part of the same paid week.

Sweat app review of price and 12-month cost

On 13 September 2026 the US App Store IAP list showed Sweat Monthly Subscription at $24.99 and Sweat Yearly Subscription at $134.99. Other rows included Sweat with Kayla at $19.99, monthly $19.99 and $13.99, and a quarterly $54.99. Those look like legacy or promo SKUs. New buyers should assume $24.99 / $134.99 unless checkout says otherwise.

The UK listing showed Sweat Monthly Subscription at £18.99 and Sweat Yearly Subscription at £99.99. Other rows included £9.99, £14.99 and Sweat with Kayla at £14.99 or £18.49. Sweat’s 2024 support note said store prices were raised in the US, UK and other countries. Your live sheet may still differ.

A 12-month US cost is $134.99 on the yearly SKU, or 12 × $24.99 = $299.88 on monthly billing. A 12-month UK cost is £99.99 on the yearly SKU, or 12 × £18.99 = £227.88 on monthly billing. Tom’s Guide’s published review also cited $24.99 and $134.99. Use the receipt in front of you.

The listing says new monthly buyers get a free trial. Yearly plans are billed in full from purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. The store text says unused time is not refunded. Cancel and the workouts go. Older PDF guides were a different product.

Sweat public facts captured 13 September 2026. Ratings are store-specific. Promo SKUs can undercut the standard pair.

Ratings are not a trophy

A Sweat app review that blended Apple and Play stars would hide the split. Forty-three thousand US Apple ratings is a large, self-selected crowd. The 4.6 figure sits a little above Play’s 4.4. UK Apple is thinner at 5.7K.

A 21 April 2026 Play review said the user had stayed since 2017 and swapped between yoga, bands and gym blocks. That is tenure, not proof. Apple still shows an Editors’ Choice blurb that cites 28-minute circuits. Programme lengths vary. Check the week view during the trial.

Rest timers are fixed, per a 2023 App Store review that is still on the listing. If you need to lengthen rest, the app may not let you. That is a product limit, not a vibe.

Some Sweat programmes want bands or a gym. The listing says substitutions exist. Confirm the week before you pay.

Sweat privacy and Data Safety

Apple’s privacy label on the US listing, captured 13 September 2026, said identifiers may be used to track you. Data linked to you may include health and fitness, identifiers and diagnostics. The app may also use location when it is not open.

Google Play Data Safety the same day said the app may share location, personal info and two other types. It may collect personal info, financial info and five other types. Data is encrypted in transit. You can request deletion.

Sweat’s privacy notice, effective 21 August 2025, is the longer document. Community posts and progress photos are user content. If you do not want a training photo in a social feed, skip that feature. Read the live notice before you join a challenge.

What independent tests actually measured

We found no PubMed paper that tested Sweat programmes against a supervised gym block. This Sweat app review therefore leaves outcome claims unverified. Tom’s Guide published a long-term user review that cited the same $24.99 and $134.99 pair. That is journalism, not a trial with a sample size.

NHS and CDC adult pages still start with weekly aerobic minutes and two days of muscle work. A “bikini body” brand name is marketing history. It is not a clinical endpoint. Pregnancy and postnatal blocks are not personal medical care.

How it sits next to free and AI apps

This Sweat app review ends on what you lose at cancel. Sweat sells a written week and a community. That is why the year costs more than Freeletics’ cheapest Coach SKU and far more than Nike Training Club. You are paying for programmes you lose when you cancel.

Pay yearly only if you will open the planner most weeks. Use the monthly trial to see whether the rest timer and Monday-start week fit your life. Confirm equipment on the first week of any gym block.
