Nike Training Club Review How Good Is Nike's Free Workout App?
Updated
This Nike Training Club review is for people who want a filmed home or gym library without a monthly fee. This is a source-reviewed guide, not a hands-on lab test. Store pages, Nike’s public app copy and adult activity guidelines were captured on 13 September 2026.
Who this Nike Training Club review is for

Download Nike Training Club on the App Store · Get Nike Training Club on Google Play
Pick Nike Training Club if you want trainer-led videos and whiteboard sessions without a subscription. The US listing covers gym strength, small-space home work, HIIT, core, yoga, pilates, recovery and mindfulness.
Skip it if you want an app that writes a new lift every day from your last set. That is a different product. Read the Freeletics review for an adaptive coach, or the Centr review for a paid meal-plus-video club.
Also skip NTC if you need every video in a country outside Nike’s VOD list. The listing names the US, UK, Brazil, Japan, China, France, Germany, Russia, Italy, Spain, Mexico and South Korea. NTC TV is US-only.
A no-equipment full-body home workout still works if you do not want a Nike login at all.
What the public listing actually includes
The US App Store listing (id 301521403) is a free Health & Fitness download from Nike, Inc. It requires iOS 17 or later and lists Apple Watch on watchOS 10 or later. Size was 257.3 MB. Age rating is 9+ for health or wellness topics.
Version 6.72.1 carried a 19 May note that only said bug fixes. The history list runs back through 2025 with the same line. Google Play (com.nike.ntc) showed an Everyone rating, a 27 April 2026 update, and the same workout menu.
Store copy lists gym programmes, home whiteboard work, hypertrophy and power blocks, sprint intervals, core, yoga, pilates, stretching and walking. You can log other sessions in an Activity tab. Nike Run Club runs can land in the same history. Apple Health and Apple Music are named on iOS. Play names Google Fit.
Casting appears on Nike’s marketing site. The store text also flags premiere athlete workouts in VOD countries. Those are catalogue claims. We did not count the library.
Nike Training Club review of price and 12-month cost
On 13 September 2026 the US App Store listed the app as Free with no in-app purchase sheet. Nike’s UK NTC page said the app is free to download and use for workouts, tracking and tips. We did not find a current Premium SKU.
Older reviews still mention a pre-2020 fee near $15 a month. That is history. Do not treat it as today’s price.
A 12-month cash cost is $0 in the US and £0 on the UK page we read. You pay with a Nike account, notifications and whatever data the privacy label describes. Billing is not through this site because there is nothing to bill.

Ratings are not a trophy
A Nike Training Club review that blended Apple and Play stars would hide the real story. Two hundred and eighty-one thousand Apple ratings is a large, self-selected crowd. The 4.8 figure sits well above Play’s 4.3. Android users see a different build and a different watch stack.
A 1 July 2026 Play review praised beginner-to-advanced filters and no-kit options. A 19 March 2026 Play review said a recent update made it harder to jump straight to yoga or strength. Those are user reports, not crash telemetry we audited.
Apple still shows an Editors’ Choice blurb. That is a store badge. It is not a lab score.
Nike Training Club privacy and Data Safety
Apple’s privacy label on the US listing, captured 13 September 2026, said location, identifiers, usage data and sensitive info may be used to track you across other companies’ apps and sites. Data linked to you may include health and fitness, purchases, financial info, location, contact info, user content, search history, identifiers, usage, diagnostics and other data.
Google Play Data Safety the same day said no data is shared with third parties. The app may collect location, personal info and ten other types. Data is encrypted in transit. You can request deletion.
Those two cards do not use the same words. If you do not want a sports brand in your health graph, read the live label and Nike’s privacy policy before you sync Apple Health or Google Fit.
What independent tests actually measured
We found no PubMed paper that tested Nike Training Club programmes against a supervised gym block. This Nike Training Club review therefore treats outcome claims as unverified. Garage Gym Reviews still describes the app as free after Nike dropped a paid tier in 2020. That is a product-history note, not an outcome trial.
NHS adult pages, and CDC adult guidance, still start with weekly aerobic minutes and two days of muscle work. A recovery video is not a diagnosis. Soreness is not a lab marker.
If you want a paid women’s programme shelf instead, read the Sweat review. The category page is best fitness apps.
How it sits next to paid coaches
NTC tries to be a large free catalogue. That breadth is why some users stay for years and why others call the feed a jumble. Freeletics charges for a journey that changes with feedback. Centr charges for meals and named coaches. BetterMe charges for a plan plus optional human chat.
This Nike Training Club review ends on a simple fork. Stay on NTC if you will actually open the videos. Switch only if you need a written weekly plan that adapts when you skip a day. Confirm VOD in your country before you plan a month around premiere classes.
