Fertility Friend Review Is It Still Useful for Charting and Fertility Awareness?

This Fertility Friend review is for people who want a long-running BBT and mucus chart, not a camera that reads a strip. This is a source-reviewed guide, not a hands-on lab test. Apple, Play, fertilityfriend.com and the privacy pages were captured on 13 September 2026. We did not enter a temperature.

Who this Fertility Friend review is for

Download Fertility Friend FF Tracker on the App Store · Get Fertility Friend FF Tracker on Google Play

Stay if you will take oral or wearable temperatures, note cervical mucus and want a coverline chart. Stay if you care that VIP does not auto-renew. Stay if Canada hosting and a no-ad, no-sale pitch matter more than a modern layout.

Skip it if you want a phone camera to read LH strips. Skip it if you need contraception. Skip it if a dated interface will stop you logging.

The wider shortlist sits at best fertility apps. A strip scanner is covered in our Premom review. A urine-hormone reader is in our Mira Fertility review. If you wanted an app sold as contraception, start with Natural Cycles review instead.

Dated features and store facts

The US App Store page we opened listed period, BBT, OPK, cervical mucus, symptoms and medication fields. It named automatic ovulation detection with an “advanced” detector or a Fertility Awareness Method detector. It also named Apple Health and Oura import, a gallery of 240,000-plus shared cycles and a 30-day VIP trial with no credit card.

The comparison table on fertilityfriend.com puts data entry, basic stats and the automatic detector on the free tier. VIP adds chart overlay, Charts Like Mine, DPO count on the graph, a fertility analyser, pregnancy monitor and detector tuning. Those are manufacturer rows, not our inventory.

Both storefronts print the same medical line: educational estimates only, not for avoiding pregnancy or scheduling procedures.

Fertility Friend price and twelve-month cost

This Fertility Friend review treats SKUs as store-specific. VIP time is a prepaid block. The membership page says it does not auto-renew.

If you take the named US yearly row at $45.99, the year costs $45.99. The $23.99 special rate is cheaper when it is offered. Twelve US 30-day purchases at $10.99 cost $131.88. A 90-day block at $21.99 four times would cost $87.96.

In the UK, £49.99 a year beats twelve £9.99 months (£119.88). The £22.99 special year is the lowest labelled annual row we saw. Open the live tile. We did not buy VIP. We cannot say which rate a new account sees first.

Privacy and Data Safety

Tamtris’s public privacy pages say Fertility Friend does not sell or trade data, does not show ads and is funded by VIP. A US-customer note says data sits on servers in Canada. An FAQ says the company stores little beyond what the chart needs and that deleted days are permanently removed.

Play Data Safety on the day we opened it said no data is shared with third parties. That is a developer form. Apple’s label still listed health, purchases, contact, user content, identifiers, usage and sensitive info as linked to you. It also listed email for the developer’s advertising or marketing. Those two statements can both be true if “marketing” means Tamtris mail, not a broker. Read all three pages.

Restricted Mode, described on the US privacy note, removes contact details from the account. That is still not a paper chart in a drawer. Export a copy if you want a file you control.

What published studies actually measured

We searched PubMed-style listings for a named trial that scores Fertility Friend’s 2026 ovulation detector against ultrasound or serum hormones. We did not find one we could date. Empty is honest.

Symptothermal fertility-awareness rules — waking temperature, mucus, optional LH tests — are older than this app. Papers on those rules are not a certificate for Tamtris’s “advanced” detector. The store page still tells you not to use the app to avoid pregnancy.

Featured Apple reviews from 2019 and 2023 describe people who used the charts while trying to conceive or while avoiding pregnancy. Those are user stories. They are not typical-use failure rates.

NHS pages on trying to conceive still start with age, regular sex and when to see a GP. Bring a printed chart to that visit if it helps. Do not bring an app badge as proof of ovulation. For how much weekly activity guidelines actually ask for, see UK and US physical activity guidelines.

A quiet chair is a better place to enter a temperature than a rushed commute. The number still needs a method.

What remains unverified

This Fertility Friend review did not time how long data entry takes. We did not recapture a Play install band. We did not test Oura import against a glass thermometer.

We did not independently prove the “we never sell data” line. We quote the written policy and the Play form.

Charting math can be ordinary. A 25-year brand is not a 2026 lab validation.

Who should skip Fertility Friend

Skip VIP if you only need a coverline and a period date. The free tier is meant to stand alone. Skip the whole app if you wanted a contraceptive and bought a TTC chart by mistake.

If you want numeric urine hormones instead of a thermometer, read our Inito review. This Fertility Friend review lands here: useful when you will chart signs yourself and you want a prepaid VIP block. Poor fit when you needed a medical test or a birth-control method and downloaded a diary instead.
