This JEFIT review is for people who want a long-running gym log with a large exercise library and an optional Elite layer. This is a source-reviewed guide, not a hands-on lab test. Store pages, JEFIT’s privacy policy and public health guidelines were captured on 13 September 2026.
Who this JEFIT review is for
Pick JEFIT if you want one place for custom routines, a 1,400-plus exercise library and charts for weekly sets. The US listings, captured 13 September 2026, also advertise an Adaptive Plan, muscle maps, recovery charts, Wear OS sync and Apple Watch live sync. That is a planner-plus-log. It is not a remote human coach.
Skip Elite if the free log already stores your split. Skip the whole app if you want a quiet notebook with almost no prompts. Store reviews still complain about UI churn after updates. If you want a social log with a cheaper Pro tier, read the Hevy review. If you want the app to write every session from recovery scores, read Fitbod.
JEFIT’s site and store copy say “over 12 million” people. That is manufacturer marketing. Our Play fetch did not show an official install band. We will not invent one.

What the public listing actually includes
The US App Store listing (id 449810000) is a free download with in-app purchases. It requires iOS 15 or later and lists Apple Watch on watchOS 10 or later. Version 17.2.0 was dated 3 September 2026 on our capture. Google Play (je.fit) showed a 4 September 2026 update. The What’s new note described faster plan edits and weight predictions that refresh when you open the app.
Free-tier copy covers logging, custom routines, supersets, rest timers, notes, progress photos and built-in bodybuilding programmes. Elite, in the same listings, unlocks Adaptive AI Coach, a premium analytics dashboard, an Elite routine library and “pro training tools.” The public page does not publish a line-by-line free-versus-Elite matrix for every chart. Confirm the paywall on your own login.
Apple Watch and Wear OS are both named. That is useful if you leave the phone in a locker. It is also a support surface. A July 2026 App Store review still called the Watch timer “glitchy.” A May 2026 Play review said the progress index stopped counting lifts after a recent change. Those are user reports, not crash telemetry we audited.
JEFIT price, subscription and 12-month cost
On 13 September 2026 both the US App Store description and the Play description listed Elite at $12.99 a month or $69.99 a year. Apple’s IAP list also showed legacy Elite SKUs at $6.99, $34.99, $35.99 and $39.99. Those are old or promotional rows. New buyers should assume the $12.99 / $69.99 pair unless the live sheet says otherwise.
We did not complete a UK App Store price capture. Do not treat the dollar pair as pounds. Open the GB listing before you subscribe.
A 12-month US Elite cost is $69.99 on yearly billing, or 12 × $12.99 = $155.88 on monthly billing. Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, according to both store texts. Billing is through Apple or Google, not this site.

Ratings are not a trophy
Forty-seven thousand Apple ratings is a large, self-selected crowd. The 4.8 figure sits well above Play’s 4.4. That gap is the story. Android users see a different build, a different watch stack and a different ad or paywall path. Do not average the stars.
Long-time App Store users praise custom exercises and the muscle breakdown. Older reviews also say each update adds prompts before you can lift. A 25 July 2026 review listed missing videos, mixed-up routines and weak support replies. Play’s 11 May 2026 note about the progress index is more useful than a slogan. If analytics are why you would pay, confirm they still count your lifts after the latest Adaptive Plan change.

JEFIT privacy and Data Safety
Apple’s privacy label on the US listing, captured 13 September 2026, said usage data may be used to track you across other companies’ apps and sites. Data not linked to you may include health and fitness, location, contact info, user content, identifiers, usage data and diagnostics. Device ID appeared under third-party advertising in one section of the same label.
Google Play Data Safety the same day said no data is shared with third parties. The app may collect location, personal info and five other types. Data is encrypted in transit. You can request deletion.
JEFIT’s privacy policy, last updated 6 December 2024, is longer than the store cards. It names Google Analytics, store payments, Stripe and Authorize.net. It says card numbers go to processors, not JEFIT. Those two documents do not use the same words. If you care about ads, open the live policy and the OS permission sheet before you upload progress photos.
What independent tests actually measured
We found no PubMed paper that tested JEFIT’s load suggestions against a supervised programme. “AI-powered progressive overload” is store language. It is not a published method paper.
ACSM’s 2026 resistance-training stand still starts with doing any regular lifting, then training major muscles at least twice a week. NHS adult pages, reviewed 22 May 2024, use the same two-day muscle floor plus about 150 moderate minutes. A recovery chart in an app is not a diagnosis. Soreness is not a lab marker.
If you want the principles without the paywall, the progressive overload guide is the method page. Best strength training apps is the shopping hub. This page is the JEFIT record only.
How it sits next to other gym logs
JEFIT tries to be a log, a programme shop and a new adaptive coach in one file. That breadth is why some users stay for years and why others call it bloated. Strong stays narrower. Ladder sells a team and a coach. JEFIT’s free tier is the reason to try it. Elite is a separate decision.
Pay yearly only if you will use the Adaptive Plan or the extra charts every week. If you just need last session’s numbers, the free log may already be enough. Confirm that in the app before Apple or Google takes $69.99.
