This Strong app review sticks to dated public listings, the Strong help centre and the firm’s privacy page. This is a source-reviewed guide, not a hands-on lab test.
Who this Strong app review is for
Read this if you want a quiet log. You already have a plan on paper, or you run a simple barbell template, and you just need last session’s numbers. Skip it if you want a feed of other lifters, or a generated mesocycle.
Strong Fitness PTE Limited, listed in Singapore, has shipped the app since 2011 according to third-party store directories. The US listing still quotes CNBC and The Verge praise. We could not open the original news pages in this pass, so treat those lines as store-quoted press, not as our retrieval of the articles.
If you want a broader map of loggers and planners, use best strength training apps. This Strong app review stays on Strong itself.

What Strong actually logs
A careful Strong app review has to date the build. The US App Store on 13 September 2026 listed version 6.5.0, dated 12 August 2026. Google Play said the Android app was updated on 10 August 2026 and mentioned Strong 6.2 in the “What’s new” block. Those version strings do not match. We report both pages rather than invent a single build number.
Platforms on the Apple page are iPhone and Apple Watch (watchOS 10 or later). Android is on Play. The maker’s site also says iPhone, Android and Apple Watch. We did not find a full web logger like Hevy’s desktop app.
Store copy describes a simple session screen, custom exercises, rest timers, warmup / failure / drop tags, supersets, volume and 1RM graphs, body measurements, plate and warmup calculators (PRO), kg and lb, notes, and CSV export. Apple Health and Google Health Connect / Google Fit are mentioned on the matching stores. Help-centre PRO text, last updated 19 May 2021, still lists unlimited templates, body-part measurements, all charts, plate calculator, warmup calculator, and iPhone themes.
The free tier is unusually open on history. You can keep logging forever, the help page says, even if you never pay. The hard gate is the third custom routine. That is the opposite of Hevy’s three-month graph cap.
Strong Workout Tracker price
The US App Store listing states, in prose, that PRO is $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year for US customers, and that prices vary by account. The IAP list on 13 September 2026 also showed Strong PRO Forever at $99.99 and $79.99, a six-month SKU at $19.99, a yearly SKU at $23.99, and a $3.99 SKU. We cannot see which offer a given device presents. Twelve months at the stated $4.99 monthly price would be $59.88. The stated yearly price is $29.99.
The UK App Store IAP list the same day showed £4.99 and £4.49 monthly SKUs, yearly SKUs at £27.49, £29.49 and £21.99, a six-month SKU at £17.99, a £3.49 SKU, and Forever SKUs at £99.99 and £79.99. A UK review on that page called the Pro tag “huge” and wished it were “around the £5” mark. That is one user’s view, dated in the store thread, not a price we set.
Older one-off unlocks (“Unlock Strong”, “Strong Combo Pack”) can be restored, the US listing says. Subscriptions do not use Family Sharing.
Compared with the Hevy yearly list price of $23.99, Strong’s stated US yearly SKU is higher. That list comparison is not a value verdict in this Strong app review.
Ratings split by store
On 13 September 2026 the US App Store showed 4.9 stars from 109,000 ratings, age 4+. The UK App Store showed 4.9 stars from 24,000 ratings. Google Play showed 4.3 stars from about 42,700 reviews (a second block said 42,300), content rating Everyone. That Apple–Play gap is large. A Strong app review should not quote a blended “4.6”.
Play’s fetched page did not show an install band. The Apple listing still says “over 1.2 million” downloads. The maker’s homepage on the same day said “over 5 million users worldwide.” Those marketing lines disagree. We do not pick a winner.
Recent Play reviews we opened were mixed in a useful way. A 6 July 2026 note praised rest timers and past-history entry after leaving a trainer. A 26 June 2026 note said the writer finally paid for more templates and wanted more watch platforms than Apple Watch. A 13 May 2026 premium user wanted easier exercise duplication on Android. Those are individual posts, not a sample of n.

Privacy in plain language
Strong’s privacy page at strong.app/privacy, last updated 21 May 2026, says an account needs an email and an optional name. Workout data is treated as yours. You can export CSV from the phone apps. Full personal-data export needs an in-app request. Account deletion is Profile → avatar → Delete Strong Account.
The same page says website analytics use Fathom and crash reports use Sentry, without sending personal information to those tools. Health Connect data, if enabled, is stored locally and not uploaded to Strong servers, according to that page. Data may sit on servers in the United States and other countries. Children under 13 are not a target audience.
Apple’s privacy label on 13 September 2026 listed health and fitness, purchases and contact info among data linked to you. Play Data Safety said no data is shared with third parties, collection may include personal info, health and fitness and three other types, encryption in transit, and deletion on request.
What published sources actually said
We found no validation study of Strong’s 1RM or volume charts. The help centre does not claim a clinical trial. Press quotes on the store listing are marketing reuse until the original articles are opened.
NHS adult activity pages still want muscle work on two or more days a week when you can. A logger can mark those days. It cannot certify that your joints are ready. If you are new to the bar, read a plan first, or a coach, not only an empty template.
People comparing loggers often land on Hevy for a feed and a lower listed yearly price, or Fitbod if they want the app to pick the day’s work. Strong’s bet is less chrome. Our progressive overload guide is the training idea behind the “last weight” field.
What this Strong app review could not verify
We did not run the iOS or Android apps. We did not restore a legacy unlock. We did not time Apple Watch battery drain, which one UK store review alleged. We did not confirm which Forever price a new buyer sees. Missing Play install-band data stays missing.
